Why did I choose New England Law?

The school’s location was ideal for me from the start. I felt strongly about moving to Boston from Florida and was drawn in by the New England Law’s downtown location. I knew I would want to be immersed in the hustle and bustle of the city, and that being downtown would give me easy access to a lot of opportunities.

On my Classmates

Cooperative and supportive! I was initially intimidated by the potential of a competitive law school environment. But everyone in my class has been kind, welcoming, and so diverse in their experience and knowledge. If anyone is ever absent or needs a little bit of extra help, there is always someone willing to share notes or explain a new way to understand a topic.

On the Faculty

All of the professors are incredibly knowledgeable about the material that is important for the bar exam and for future practice. They make sure we understand the core concepts of our first-year classes, which is important because they are the foundation for every subsequent course you take in law school. I also really appreciate how the professors carefully choose textbooks they believe will benefit us the most.

On Alumni

From the networking events I have attended, I have learned that New England Law alumni are very willing to take current students under their wings and really teach them the practical experience they need. It is reassuring to know that you could work with an alumnus that is ready to mentor and help you instead of making you jump blindly into the work.

On Career Services

The Career Services Office has been incredibly helpful for me. Not only have I gotten résumé, cover letter, and interview help early on and whenever I’ve needed it, but I was also given the guidance I needed to land my first summer internship with ease. The school provides many networking opportunities that students should really take advantage of. Being a lawyer in Boston is all about who you know, and New England Law knows a lot of people!

One Piece of Advice for Someone Trying to Decide Where to Go to Law School

Visit the schools you are considering. This will hopefully give you a good idea of the environment you’ll be learning in, and you’ll probably learn some things about the school that you wouldn’t find on their website.
