Professional Background

Ruth Adeyinka is the founder of the Law Office of Ruth L. Adeyinka-Deras, a solo practice delivering services to primarily low income communities. Her areas of focus include domestic relations, immigration, and civil matters. She frequently represents clients in family and probate matters, as well as representative immigration matters.

Prior to launching her solo practice, Ruth worked with the Support Services Department of the Office of Court Management at the Massachusetts Trial Court, first as Brockton's Court Service Center Manager and then as their Court Service Center Community Engagement Manager. There, amongst other things, she developed, implemented, and evaluated initiatives aimed at enhancing access to justice resources to the public. She also worked to provide information and explanation about the various court processes, laws, rules, official documents and/or forms to litigants and attorneys, and fostered relationships with individuals and organizations to enhance the resources available through the CSC. In addition to her work in private practice and at New England Law, she works at the newly established, Chelsea Legal Services.

Ruth is currently an Advisory Board Member for the Massachusetts Association of Hispanic Attorneys (MAHA), Co-Chair of the Diversity Equity and Inclusion Committee for the Massachusetts Bar Association, member of the Supreme Judicial Court Standing Committee on Lawyer Well-Being and the Joint Bar Committee on Judicial Nominations. She is also a part of the Immigration Advocates Network, the Massachusetts Immigrant & Refugee Coalition (MIRA), and the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).
