Time and Location

9/18/2017 02:45PM - 05:00PM, THE CHERRY ROOM, 154 STUART STREET, BOSTON, MA 02116

Can a bakery refuse to work with a same-sex couple based on religious grounds? Join us as we discuss this pending landmark case—and get a free copy of the Constitution and a cupcake while you’re at it. (Because who can debate on an empty stomach?)

New England Law | Boston students, faculty, and staff are invited to attend the upcoming Cupcakes and The Constitution event, co-sponsored by the New England Law Federalist and American Constitution Societies. Each attendee will receive a pocket Constitution and a delicious cupcake!

Professors Allison Dussias and Peter Manus will then lead a discussion on the Masterpiece Cakeshop, Ltd. v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission case the Supreme Court is scheduled to hear this fall. This landmark case concerns whether a wedding cake shop can refuse to work with a single-sex couple on religious grounds.
