Elizabeth J. Day is the deputy general counsel of the Massachusetts State Lottery Commission and is responsible for representing the commission at grievance and arbitration hearings, before the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination, and in collective bargaining. She also advises the executive director and senior staff on labor and employment–related laws and compliance with collective bargaining agreements; drafts and reviews policies and contracts; and conducts employee investigations, and license suspension and revocation hearings.
Day previously served as assistant labor counsel for the Department of Correction in Boston and as a staff attorney in the Office of the Legal Advisor of the Boston Police Department.
While in law school, she interned at the Suffolk County House of Correction and the Office of the Attorney General. She was also a legal research assistant for the New England Law | Boston Law Library and was a Law Day chairperson. She received the Women’s Achievement and the Distinguished Service awards.
